Consultation on proposed closure of Wilderness Road Branch Surgery
We are considering the closure of the Wilderness Road site and we want to hear your views.
Why we are proposing this change?
We have recently reviewed how services are delivered across our practice. This has highlighted some of the benefits to having the services provided at the Wilderness Road site provided at our Chalfont and Brookside sites.
This would:
Increase our clinical capacity by 12 appointments per week -currently staff need time to travel between sites.
Allow access to a wider range of services such as minor ops, MSK assessments and dermatology appointments which cannot be provided at the Wilderness Road site due to the equipment needed.
Allow access to urgent ECGS or blood tests, there is not always a Practice Nurse at the Wilderness Road surgery so urgent blood tests are carried out at our other sites.
Allow clinical staff to have access to other clinicians to reduce clinical isolation and increase second opinions if needed, providing better outcomes for patients.
Reduce staffing inefficiencies- maintaining a reception team when only one clinician is working. This will speed up telephone answering times across the practice.
Free up resources in maintaining an older building in order to improve building maintenance across the other three sites.
Our aim is to ensure we can continue to provide safe, high-quality, and sustainable care for all patients.
What this would mean for you
If the proposal goes ahead, you would remain registered with Brookside Group Practice, no action would be needed by you. Services would be provided from Chalfont, Brookside and Winnersh sites.
We would:
Ensure continuity of care, particularly for vulnerable patients, you would be registered with the same GP and be part of the same Patient Health Team.
Support patients who may find travel difficult
Review appointment availability to meet demand
